| What
we Believe |
| We believe... |
The Scriptures
We
believe in the Bible (the 66 books containing both the Old and New Testament)
the only inspired word of God. We also believe that the Scripture has been
preserved and passed on to us by God, and are the Supreme authority on
matters of faith and practice. |
GOD
We
believe in One God in Three Persons - Father, Son and the Holy Spirit,
each a distinct Person, co-equal, co-eternal and of the same substance,
each worthy of worship and adoration. |
Jesus Christ
We
believe in the Lord Jesus Christ the Son of God, begotten by the Holy Spirit,
Born of Virgin Mary, who is perfect, Holy and sinless. His death on the
cross was a vicarious sacrifice, and that he was buried, rose again and
ascended to the Father, according to the Scriptures. |
Holy Spirit
We
believe in the Holy Spirit, the Third Person of the Blessed Trinity. The
very same God, co-existent with the Father and the Son, permanently indwelling
the believer and is the Seal of salvation unto all eternity. |
Creation
We
believe that man is created in the image of God and is not a product of
evolution. Because of sin, man incurred both physical and spiritual death. |
Satan
We
believe that Satan was perfect when God created him. But he rebelled against
Him and became the adversary of God and His people. Satan has been judged
and defeated at the cross and ultimate destruction awaits him at the second
coming of Christ. |
Salvation
We
believe that all those who confess with their mouth and believe in their
heart that Jesus Christ is Lord become children of God. We believe that
all are saved by grace through faith and not by works. They are born of
the Spirit from above. Salvation involves redemption, regeneration, sanctification
and glorification. We also believe that Salvation is an act of God. |
Eternal Security
We
believe in the eternal security of the believer. We believe the saved ones
are Foreknown, Predestinated and Called by God, and the believer is kept
by the power of God through faith unto salvation. |
SecondComing
We
believe in the pre-millennial, pre-tribulational return of the Lord and
the Rapture of the Church. Then the saints will be caught up with Him in
the air in the twinkling of an eye. And then after seven years of the tribulation,
Christ Himself will visibly descend with His saints to establish His millennial
kingdom on the earth. |
Providence
We
believe in the providence of the Lord. We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ
upholds all things by the power of His word and He holds everything together. |
The priesthood of the believer
We
believe in the priesthood of all believers and that they have direct access
to God the Father through Jesus Christ the Son, who is the Great High Priest
and the only mediator between the believer and the Father. |
The Lord's Day
We
believe that the first day of the week is Lord's Day. We observe this day
by breaking bread and worship and adoration. |
The Local Church
We
believe that the local church is a body of believers in a particular locality
gathering unto the name of Christ for worship and witness. We believe in
the autonomy of the Local Church. We believe that spiritual gifts have
been given to every believer for the edification of the Body of Christ. |
Ordinances
We
believe that the local church observes the two ordinances of Baptism and
Lord's Supper. We believe that all who have received Christ, as their personal
Savior and Lord should be baptized in the name of the Father, of the Son,
and of the Holy Spirit. We believe in baptism by immersion in water, which
is a symbol of the likeness of His death, burial and resurrection, and
that the Lord's Supper should be observed in remembrance of Him to show
forth His death for our sins until He comes again. |
Church and State
We
believe in the separation of Church and State. While God has ordained the
existing governmental powers, we also believe that man's highest authority
is the Word of God and man is therefore free from any commandments of men
that are in conflict with the Word of God. |
